The last featured cycle tour on the Weser in central and northern Germany from our series, was mainly flat. If this is not enough of a challenge for you, you will enjoy the different trail characteristics of the Elster cycle path. Pedal hard, discover the natural beauty of Germany’s east and relax in the quiet, cycle-friendly hotel.

Elster Cycle Path

The Elster Cycle Path begins near the Czech town of Aš (Asch) and runs along the riverbank to Halle in Saxony-Anhalt. The approx. 250 km long cycle path takes you through Germany’s east and lets you experience the nature around the White Elster. Whether lush meadows and forests, gentle slopes or charming towns, the Elster cycle path has a lot to offer.

In Leipzig, for example, a lively city awaits you with a diverse culture and history. Visit the numerous sights such as the Monument to the Battle of the Nations or St. Thomas Church.
