Our next tip for a cycling tour in central and southern Germany can be experienced in relaxed day stages: The Danube Cycle Path delights with a unique river landscape and leads past varied places where you can also find cycle-friendly hotels.

Danube Cycle Path

The Danube Cycle Path is one of the most beautiful and popular long-distance cycle paths in Europe. It runs for around 600 km with almost no inclines, passing vineyards, picturesque landscapes and fascinating towns. It begins at the source in Donaueschingen and finally flows into the Black Sea in Budapest.
Be sure to plan a short stop in Regensburg. Visit the cathedral and immerse yourself in the medieval ambience of the city. The Old Town and Stadtamhof, which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, are also worth a visit. Spend the night at the Holiday Inn Express Regensburg, where your bike is also safely stored. In the morning, enjoy our extended continental breakfast, which is included in the overnight stay. Before you start the next stage, you might want to visit the Stone Bridge, which crosses the Danube. It is one of the oldest functioning bridges in Germany.
