The Cycle Makes Design
Surely you have already asked yourself why we have chosen the wire bike for our hotel design, right? The answer is quite simple, because the Elbe cycle path leads directly through the Ottostadt. What fits better than to creatively pick up on the theme of the cycle in the ibis Styles Magdeburg and implement it stylistically. For this, various components of the cycle were taken and transformed into unique design elements.
For example, in the lobby of the hotel you will find individually backlit wire artworks as well as cycle spokes that serve as lamps. And you can discover a few things in the rooms as well: pillows in the shape of cycle bags that stylishly decorate the headboard of the bed, a creative wire mesh above the bed, or a cycle basket that serves as a shelf above the wardrobe. A small map of the Elbe cycle path, which can be found in some hotel rooms, is also particularly nice.
The Elbe Cycle Path
The Elbe cycle path, which is about 1,270 meters long, is a dream come true for all cycling enthusiasts. It convinces with its scenic and cultural diversity and is one of the most popular cycle paths in Europe, not least because of its low gradients. It is up to you whether you cycle along the entire Elbe cycle path or only a section. However, you should definitely plan a stopover in the Ottostadt. You will spend the night in the ibis Styles Magdeburg. In which you can discover the many small details that point to the bike. You can safely store your own cycle during your stay in our lockable cycle room. In addition, a charging station for e-bikes is available to all e-bike riders.
